Survey Week
From March 27 to 31, 2023, we worked on a five-day project in Plopsaland. Each group was assigned a specific area of the park to measure and process. At the end of the week, all measurements were combined into a comprehensive as-built plan of Plopsaland, resulting in a detailed overview of the entire park.

Court attendance
On April 20, 2023, we visited the Justice of the Peace in the canton of Hamme, Danny De Schepper. Beforehand, we had the opportunity to discuss with the Justice of the Peace the cases that would be addressed during the session.

Study Trip to Berlin
On November 12, 2023, we had a free afternoon to explore Berlin. We chose to visit the Berlin Wall, an iconic landmark that the city is famous for. It was my first time seeing it, and I found it impressive, particularly because of all the artwork displayed on it.

On November 29, 2023, I obtained my drone certificate for category A1/A3 through the Omnidrones website. This was a requirement for the study trip to Gambia, where we primarily worked with drones.

From December 8 to 19, 2023, I had the opportunity to travel to Gambia with a fellow student and a professor as part of the HerMaP Gambia initiative. This project strengthens the cultural sector in Gambia and promotes social progress, heritage preservation, and tourism in the Greater Banjul area.

From April 13 to 23, 2024, we traveled to Greece. The destination for this project was the historic center of Nafplio and the surrounding region. Our goal was to document and capture these unique locations using advanced techniques.

‘Project Ruimtelijke ontwikkeling’
During semester 4 (2024), I worked with three other students on a project to design a residential subdivision on a chosen site. The project covered all the steps a surveyor undertakes in such a process, from analysis to execution.

During semester 4 (2024), I worked with three other students on an assignment where we prepared a boundary determination report, compiled an expert report with legal and technical arguments regarding boundary definition, conducted an expropriation valuation, and formulated an agreement for land transfer or right of way between parties.

During semester 4 (2024), I worked with three other students on the "Expansion of HOGENT Sports Hall" practicum. The goal of this practicum was to use basic measuring instruments such as GPS, total stations, leveling instruments, and construction lasers in a construction and infrastructure context.

On November 30, 2024, I attended a lecture by architect Yusuke Obuchi titled "Design Matters: Rethinking Digital Fabrication." The lecture took place at the University of Calgary and was organized for architecture students. We were invited to attend by a family member of a fellow student who works at this university.

Internship at Urban Systems
From September to December 2024, I completed a 12-week internship at Urban Systems as a surveyor assistant in Calgary, Canada. Urban Systems is a consulting and engineering firm that focuses on the development, planning, and realization of sustainable urban and infrastructure projects.

Observational Internship
On January 7 and 8, 2025, I spent two days shadowing a surveyor at the surveying office Daenick-Audenart & Tallieu. On January 7, I primarily performed fieldwork. During the first two tasks, we had to mark out an electrical cabinet using wooden stakes. For the first task, we were able to put all the stakes into the ground. For the second task, the cabinet was located on a construction site that was still under development, and the cabinet would be situated at the temporary entrance and exit of the site. Therefore, we put only two stakes into the ground and marked the rest with spray paint.
