Observational Internship

On January 7 and 8, 2025, I spent two days shadowing a surveyor at the surveying office Daenick-Audenart & Tallieu. On January 7, I primarily performed fieldwork. During the first two tasks, we had to mark out an electrical cabinet using wooden stakes. For the first task, we were able to put all the stakes into the ground. For the second task, the cabinet was located on a construction site that was still under development, and the cabinet would be situated at the temporary entrance and exit of the site. Therefore, we put only two stakes into the ground and marked the rest with spray paint.

For the third and fourth tasks, we conducted an as-built survey, which would later be used for boundary determination. This survey made it possible to specify exactly where the future electrical cabinet would be located and which piece of land would need to be expropriated. For this survey, we used both a GNSS device and a total station.

On January 8, I observed the processing of the measurements taken on January 7. In the afternoon, I had the opportunity to witness an appraisal and assist in its processing.
